Dr. Tiesha S. Nelson is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and the CEO and Founder of Nelson Psychological Services, LLC established in 2012. She received her undergraduate degree from the Florida State University and obtained her Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from Nova Southeastern University. She specializes in Forensic Psychology., however is competent in a number of specialties including, but not limited: addiction, sexual abuse (Offenders and Victims), geriatric mental health, community trauma and the mental health impact stemming from disparities, and mental health issues stemming from living with HIV/AIDS, LGBTQ mental health concerns, and mental health issues stemming from disparities (Socioeconomic status, health, gender and race biases).
Further Dr. Nelson is an advocate for increasing awareness around diversity and disparity issues in Black and Brown Communities. She recently founded P.R.O.S.P.E.R., Inc., a non- profit organization which serves to advocate for and provide community mental health services for people of color.
Dr. Nelson is a Florida Qualified supervisor and provides clinical supervision to master-level students completing their Practicum or Internship; Mental Health Registered Interns (MHRI) pursuing their license as a mental Health Counselor; as well as doctoral Students in Internship and Post-Doctoral trainees pursing a license as a Psychologist.
Dr. Nelson utilizes a number of supervisory approaches toward providing support and guidance to her trainees. Dr. Nelson is dedicated to her Trainee’s success. Her perspective considers the supervisor-supervisee relationship in a developmental perspective -with the ultimate goal of clinician development. Dr. Nelson offers affordable supervision fees with flexible meeting times.
